The mission
The rebrand of Haystack was about setting the tone for a startup with big ambitions in the film and continuity space. As a new tool designed to bring clarity and structure to a chaotic part of the production process, Haystack needed a brand identity that felt sharp, modern and instantly memorable.
The brief was to evolve the original concept, a cartoon haystack, into something more refined without losing its character entirely. The result is a clean, iconic logo that nods to the app’s roots while positioning it as a professional and design-led product. This new identity lays the foundation for a brand ready to grow, stand out and earn its place in the hands of filmmakers.
The Build
Haystack’s new identity was built as a complete, scalable brand system. The final logo is a clean, geometric mark that subtly reflects the layered structure of a haystack, paired with a modern Montserrat wordmark for clarity and versatility.
The branding includes a refined colour palette, app icons, social avatars and a full set of guidelines covering typography, colour use and layout. Designed to be both functional and distinctive, the result is a cohesive visual identity that brings confidence, clarity and consistency to every part of the Haystack experience.
